JORDAN MAKMIHE

Couple, Family & Systemic Psychotherapist

About Me

I am a compassionate and experienced couple, family and systemic psychotherapist. I have extensive experience working in the NHS, Social Care and Independent Practice. I also consult with organisations, and teach, train, and supervise other therapists. I specialise in treating mental health difficulties and relationship problems.

I work with individuals, couples and families and help them to navigate a range of complexities and dilemmas. This includes, though is not limited to: improving the quality and safety of relationships; experiences of anxiety and depression; enhancing intimacy and trust; recovery from trauma and abuse; parenting and family challenges; grief and loss; separation and divorce; gender, sex and identity issues, and work-related dilemmas.

I believe that change starts with a willingness to experiment with difference. My role as your therapist is to help you to envision a preferred future and take action to make that vision a lived reality. I also believe that people are not problems, problems are the problems. And that most problems are protests about emotional disconnection and responses to adverse experiences and attempts to cope through challenging contexts. The quality of our relationships will shape the quality of our lives – so building healthy and satisfying relationships will be at the heart of our work together.

The therapy process will be built on a foundation of warmth, curiosity, and empathy, and tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. We will take time to build a collaborative and trusting relationship to work towards the changes you want to see.

My rates are as follows:
Individual session: £120
Couple/family session: £140
