Dr. GÖKCE OLGA SOY

Counselling Psychologist & EMDR& Mindfulness Therapist (HCPC Registered & UKCP Accredited)

About Me

I am an experienced HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. I offer counselling and psychotherapy to couples and individuals.

I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and have worked in various clinical settings, including a GP surgery, a long-term counselling service, charity organisations, clinics and specialised working with women community services.

I am aware that despite our best efforts, we may still experience feelings of helplessness, dread, shame, or guilt. I provide a source of support for those who are in discomfort or are experiencing numbness.

I think psychotherapy should be personalised and adapted to meet each client’s specific needs. I, therefore, combine elements of numerous techniques to match your particular therapeutic goals.

I am providing in-depth, long-term counselling and psychotherapy or short-term work. I have strong compassion for people and am excellent at listening. My goal is to comprehend the problem you are now facing thoroughly, look for relationships and behaviour patterns, and collaborate with you to develop solutions.

I offer psychotherapy and EMDR to adults and young people looking to improve relationships with themselves and others. I use my training and experiences to work with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, work issues, anger, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, phobias, bereavement, work-related issues, anger, problems connected to infertility, creativity, problems relating to obsessive behaviours or thinking and sexuality. I also manage daily living and various other difficulties.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a relatively new trauma therapy. It is a highly effective treatment for people who have had traumatic experiences. It is also helpful for a variety of emotional and behavioural problems in adults, including phobias, panic attacks, anxiety, low self-esteem and addictions.

Couples Counselling An attachment-based approach and Gottman to relationship counselling inform my work with couples. I have developed knowledge and experience supporting couples seeking help with their relationship difficulties. Increased closeness, respect, and affection are among the objectives of the method of Couples Therapy. An approach to couples counselling is focused on assisting couples in identifying and resolving issues, deepening their understanding and appreciation of one another, and enhancing the general health of their relationship.

I offer therapy sessions in North London, E8 Dalston in Hackney, centrally located with easy access from central London. I offer a quiet and confidential space to help share your concerns. I also offer sessions on Saturdays in quite comfortable rooms.

I undertake para-legal work working with people who have suffered trauma through road traffic accidents, PTSD, generalised anxiety and pain management.

If the profile created above fits your needs, I may be able to help you. Weekly sessions are the norm, but this can be adjusted to meet your needs.

All subsequent sessions are charged at:

£100 to £110 per 50 minutes session for individuals (depending on the time of the day)

£120 per 50 minutes session for couples

EMDR sessions can be 1 hour or up to 90 minutes in length. Longer sessions are charged at a proportion of the same hourly rate.

Initial assessment fees are paid either online prior to the session or by cash at the start of the session.

I can also provide therapy via phone and Skype if required. I also offer a limited number of concessionary rates. We will usually discuss fees in the first few sessions.
