My work is trauma-informed, weaving together a relational approach with creative methods to help you make sense of what is going on in your life.
The integrative approach means we have a wide selection of psychotherapy theories and practices to explore together. Essentially it puts you at the centre and we work with finding the best approach for you. The work is process based, meaning we may use different creative practices to explore your inner world. It is not an art lesson, and no previous art experience is required. You don’t have to use any of the arts.
My areas of focus include: anxiety, grief, relational dynamics, difficulties with communicating, reproductive health and justice, pregnancy loss, domestic and sexual violence. I am LGBTQ+ informed and work with issues around discrimination, sexuality and gender identity. Building confidence and reconnecting to intuition is central to my work.
My dedication to continuous professional development encourages me to regularly reflect on my practice as a therapist (and as an individual), considering feminist, anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory approaches. This includes delving into the social and political contexts that shape my work and the remarkable individuals that I support.
I care deeply about working community-based and increasing access to therapeutic/supportive spaces. Alongside my 1-1 work I work with low-cost services and charities providing advocacy and emotional support. In a combination of talk-based therapy and psychoeducational groups/creative workshops, covering a range of topics but with a particular focus on anxiety, depression, and navigating change.
If you’re interested to know more about how integrative creative therapy can help you, I offer a free 15 minute phone call. This will give you the chance to ask any questions and for me to understand a little about what brings you to therapy. From this you will decide whether it feels right for us to work together.
I offer a sliding scale and some low cost spaces for those in need of extra support. This is dependent on your income and my capacity. Please reach out for more info.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.
