LISA MURRAY

Integrative Counsellor (MBACP)

A very warm welcome

I am an integrative counsellor. My approach is relational, drawing primarily from humanistic and psychodynamic traditions, with a particular interest in attachment theory.

What all that means is that I adapt how we work to your individual needs. But also, alongside modalities and theories, I see therapy as a relational process. While many wounds arise within relationship, whether with family, friends, partners, or caregivers, it is also through relationship that healing, growth, and change can unfold.

I offer a compassionate, supportive, and down-to-earth space where together we can explore and untangle whatever it is that you are struggling with and become curious about all parts of yourself.

I recognise that each person brings their own history, experiences, culture, and ways of being in the world; therefore, our work together is co-created, with you at the centre, and always at your pace.

Together, we can identify and understand old patterns that may be holding you back and let go of those that no longer serve your wellbeing.

As you deepen your connection to your authenticity, you create space for healthier ways of being and relating, to yourself, the people in your life, and to the world around you.

Come as you are

There are many reasons why someone might seek counselling. Sometimes the reason feels clear. Other times it may be less easy to put into words. It could be something unresolved from your past, or something happening in your life right now that’s causing you distress or unease. You may just have the feeling that something needs to change.

Perhaps It’s harder to name, a sense that something is ‘off’, or that you haven’t felt quite like yourself for some time. You may even be asking deeper questions about who that self really is. If you’re from another cultural background or have moved to the UK, you may also be navigating the challenges of transition and change in an ever-shifting world.

Whatever it is that brings you here, whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-worth, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions or something else entirely, you are welcome.

Next Steps

It is important that you find a therapist you feel comfortable with, someone who can be alongside you on your journey.

If you think we could be a good fit, please contact me via email, and we can arrange our first session. We’ll have a conversation about what has brought you here, along with some relevant background information, and we’ll get a sense of how we might work together. Following that, we can schedule ongoing sessions.

Alternatively, I offer a complimentary 15-minute call, where we can have a brief conversation about what brings you, and I can answer any questions you may have about the way I work, and we can go from there.

Sessions are 50 minutes and take place at the same time each week. We can work together either short term or long term, depending on what feels right for you, and this can be reviewed along the way. I offer sessions both in person and online.

Fees

£65 per session

I offer a limited number of concessions, if you think you might be eligible, please enquire.

I hold a Diploma in integrative counselling, and I am a registered member of the BACP, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
